The department of Anesthesiology provides state of the art care for patients undergoing all types of surgical procedures. Because the discipline has become so subspecialized, faculty is available in areas such as cardiac anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, pain management, and organ transplantation.

Exciting Announcement about Our Anesthesiology Residency Program

The University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center Anesthesiology Residency Program is now a Categorical Residency Program effective October 29, 2013 for the 2014 match. This means we are now a 4 year program. 

The new PGY-1 year is the product of an exciting collaboration between the Departments of Anesthesiology, Surgery and Emergency Medicine and comprises all required and elective curricular components.  The PGY-1 (CA-0) year is designed to prepare you for an excellent Anesthesiology residency experience in one of the most exciting clinical practice environments in the country with an outstanding patient population.
