Division of Biostatistics
The Division of Biostatistics is responsible for (a) training graduate students and clinical researchers in biostatistics and epidemiology (Graduate Programs in Biostatistics and Epidemiology), (b) the develoment of statistical methodology for the analysis of data arising from medical research (Statististical Methodology Program), and (c) design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials, observational studies, surveys and basic science research (Statistical Consultation and Research Center). The Graduate Programs in Biostatistics and Epidemiology train graduate students and clinical researchers in the subject areas of biostatistics and data analysis, descriptive and genetic epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, computational methods, clinical trial methodology and related fields to work as researchers in the health sciences, including population disease and risk factor research and treatment trials.
