Clerkships

The USC Department of Radiation Oncology offers four-week elective rotations for USC and Visiting fourth year medical students, in cooperation with USC Keck School of Medicine.

Students will work with each attending physician, based on a schedule divided into half-day blocks. The student will attend chart rounds, tumor boards and conferences throughout the week, work with residents to prepare for and examine new patients, and present new patients to the attending physician. He or she will participate in treatment planning, including dosimetry, simulation, and set-up, and will be given the opportunity to observe brachytherapy and other procedures as scheduled in the clinic.  Each student will also be required to give a 45-minute PowerPoint presentation for the residents and attending physicians during the last week of the clerkship rotation.
