USC Neighborhood Outreach Grants Applications Due

USC Neighborhood Outreach (UNO) 2013-2014 grant applications will be available online! Any benefits-eligible university employee, university department, or student organization is eligible to apply when they partner with a community-based, tax-exempt organization that operates within the UNO boundaries surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences Campuses (visit website for application criteria and service area maps).

Grant applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013.

About USC Neighborhood Outreach

The mission of USC Neighborhood Outreach is to provide greater coherence, visibility and coordination of the university's partnerships with the community. Priorities are to:


1) Improve the quality of K-12 education, and enhance the quality of life for children and their families, with special consideration for:

  • Improving student achievement, and
  • Improving health outcomes, particularly in the area of obesity and diabetes

2) Improve community safety through community policing or other initiatives.


3) Provide assistance to projects that result in economic development, including workforce training, entrepreneurial stimulation through small business development, neighborhood beautification and employability enhancement for local residents.
