Overview

Richard W. Kim, MD, FACS, is assistant professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He received his medical degree from State University of New York, Brooklyn. There he received the Jackson H. Stuckey Award for Outstanding Surgical Research and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Kim completed his general surgery residency training and research fellowship at Yale University in 2004. He then continued his training at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency in 2006, and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he completed his Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship in 2007. Prior to joining the faculty in September 2010, Dr. Kim was assistant professor of Surgery at Yale University, practicing pediatric and adult congenital cardiothoracic surgery.
