Dr. Laughrun's primary focus has always been on direct patient care of adults with a broad range of heart problems. He is returning to his native Southern California after practicing in Des Moines, Iowa where he was the most recent recipient of the "From The Heart" award from the American Heart Association. This award is based on nomination and voting by physicians who were asked which cardiologist best exemplifies the mission of the AHA. He has always enjoyed teaching, which he believes compliments and improves his ability to take care of patients.
Dr. Laughrun has years of experience in the interpretation of echocardiograms and nuclear cardiology studies. He performs and interprets transesophageal echocardiograms.
Dr. Laughrun is very interested, and Board Certified, in seeing patients with Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
