Dr. Helen L. Baron, MD / CCD, is assistant professor of medicine and the director of the Bone Mineral Density Unit. Dr. Baron is an expert in inpatient and outpatient management of endocrine diseases at Keck Hospital of USC. She is the endocrinologist for multiple committees, including: the Insulin Error Reduction Team; the Medical Error Reduction Team; the Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Program; and the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program.
Dr. Baron's clinical interests include endocrinology and diabetology. Dr. Baron is a published author, having co-written a chapter entitled "Disorders of the Thyroid" in Pharmacology and Therapeutics – Principles to Practice. She is a clinical researcher who is currently the co–principal investigator on six research studies. In addition, she frequently participates in medical programs as a guest speaker.
