Overview

Dr. Milam has training and expertise in the the psychological and behavioral adaptation to stress and disease. This includes survivorship studies among clinical populations (cancer and HIV). Dr. Milam has experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinic-based health behavior interventions, including medication adherence and follow-up care as primary outcomes, in populations that experience health disparities. His interests also include positive psychology and his research examines the role of positive and protective psychosocial and behavioral factors that can influence health and wellbeing.
