Overview

H. Paco Kang, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors in the pelvis and upper and lower extremities. He offers expert care in the management of skeletal metastases in such cancers as lung, breast and thyroid, along with treatment of general orthopedic problems for patients with cancer.

Dr. Kang was fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal oncology at Harvard Medical School and attended medical school at Columbia University, where he also spent time as a pre-doctoral orthopedic research fellow.

His clinical research interests include improvement of long-term functional outcomes and overall survival for patients with metastatic cancer. In his research, Dr. Kang focuses on the development of new implant types and cutting-edge surgical techniques, such as carbon-fiber implants, custom 3D printed reconstructions and robotic surgery.

In his practice at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Keck Medicine of USC, he appreciates being able to offer patients access to a team of multidisciplinary experts dedicated to their health and well-being.
