Request for Proposals: Hearst Fellowship Award

The second annual Hearst Fellows award is now open for application. The award of $65,000 that includes one year of salary and benefits will be made to an exceptional junior postdoctoral researcher within the Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at USC. This investment and prestigious recognition for a total of three talented junior postdoctoral fellows, chosen successively over the course of three years, is designed to ensure that they have the resources to start their first postdoctoral fellowships within their initial two years at USC, as well as to acquire the preliminary data that will make them more competitive for nationwide postdoctoral fellowship programs.
We are accepting applications from postdoctoral fellows, or from those planning to initiate research prior to the initiation of the funding date below, to engage in stem cell-related research in the Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at USC. Fellows are only eligible if this is their first postdoctoral fellowship and their USC start date was less than two years before the anticipated funding date below.
A complete application that includes a CV of the prospective postdoctoral fellow and a two-page proposal of the project is due by July 15, 2016 at 5 p.m. (PST). Applications will be reviewed by an internal committee, and the successful one will be announced by August 15, 2016. The 12-month funding period begins on September 1, 2016.
At the conclusion of the award period, fellows will provide a written report to the Hearst Foundations about the research, its significance and its impact, as well as how the project has led to or will lead to continued support.
