This year’s lecture, titled “Environmental and Psychological Impact of LA Fires on Human Health” addresses the recent California fires that profoundly affected Altadena and Pacific Palisades. This topic holds particular significance for our department, as many of our faculty and team were directly impacted by these devastating events.
Our distinguished speakers are from the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences:
Jennifer B. Unger, PhD, Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC Keck School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the psychological, social, and cultural influences on health-risk and health-protective behaviors among diverse populations.
Daniel W. Soto, EdD, MPH, Assistant Professor at USC Keck School of Medicine and director for the Center for Population Health (CPH). He has over 20 years of population-based health behavior research experience and has established effective community engagement, recruitment, and retention methods for populations across the United States.
