Keck APIFSA presents “Industry & Identity: A Career Conversation with Kavita Munjal”, moderated by Michael Price
June 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
“Industry and Identity” is a Keck Asian Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association (Keck APIFSA) event series that invites USC API staff, faculty, and alumni to speak about their careers. In addition to sharing how their identities have influenced their journeys, guests will explore a variety of professional development topics, from mentorship to networking and more.
Kavita Munjal has recently been appointed as AVP of Global Philanthropy, as USC embarks on its $3 Billion Campaign for Health. In her most recent leadership position, Kavita was overseeing corporate and foundation relations, and advancement initiatives for the USC Institute of Urology and Population & Public Health Sciences at Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California. As part of the senior leadership team, she has raised support for innovative research and cutting-edge solutions to some of the most pressing and persistent health problems facing our world, from neurodegeneration to inequalities in global health. Over the course of her 18 years at USC, Kavita has raised over $550 million from individuals and foundations to support healthcare initiatives across research, patient care, community engagement and medical education.
Prior to joining USC, she leveraged her fundraising skills as co-founder and head of production at Lemon Tree Films, a successful independent film production company. She was a leading innovator in the emerging Hollywood-Bollywood corridor, particularly in terms of successfully raising funding in both India and the U.S. for content focused on the Indian-American experience in the United States.
Michael Price is a Senior Writer with the Keck Advancement Communications team. He previously served as Associate Director for Academic Initiatives in USC’s Office of the Provost. Before that, he was Deputy Program Lead of a media analysis team supporting press affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
This event is sponsored by Keck APIFSA IRG and Keck APIFSA ERG. Complimentary boxed lunch will be provided. First come, first served.
