Vinay Duddalwar, MD has a focus on clinical teaching and research in oncologic imaging, predominantly in abdominal and genitourinary oncology. His research interests include radiomics, contrast enhanced ultrasound and development of integrative multiomic methods of evaluating diseases. Dr. Duddalwar founded and leads a multidisciplinary lab viz. USC Radiomics lab which works at the intersection of quantifying imaging, artificial intelligence and multiomic analysis. The lab is interdisciplinary with experts in radiology, imaging science, oncology, surgery, data science, artificial intelligence and biostatistics and has received federal grants from the NCI and NIBIB as well as foundation and industry grants. Using both clinical and research experience, he aims to develop clinically meaningful tools and decision support systems. A particular interest of his is mentoring students from high school to undergrad and grad students as well as medical and engineering students in various projects. Many of these students have funded grants. He is the Asst. Director in charge of translational science at the newly established AI- MedX Collaboratory at USC Keck school of Medicine, and co-leads the GU research group across multiple schools at USC, also holding committee positions in the RSNA, SWOG and consensus committees in urological groups including the SIU.
