VIZBI at USC
March 15
We are excited to announce that USC’s Bridge Institute will be hosting VIZBI 2024, the 14th international meeting on Visualising Biological Data, which will take place March 13-15 at the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience.
VIZBI has run annually since 2010, alternating primarily between the USA and Germany, with support from NIH and EMBO. The meeting attracts prominent scientists, medical illustrators, designers, and science communicators and has helped advance the use of data visualization in life science research (see Nature News article). This will be the first in-person VIZBI event on the West Coast of the USA.
VIZBI 2024 will feature keynotes from Jessica Hullman (Northwestern University, USA), Anders Ynnerman (Linköping University, Sweden) and Alex McDowell (USC School of Cinematic Arts, USA), as well as plenary talks from 18 leading researchers developing and applying data visualization across the scales of life, from DNA, RNA, and Proteins, through to Cells, Tissues, and Ecosystems.
Prior to the VIZBI conference, a satellite event called the ‘VIZBI Masterclass’ is planned for March 12. This 1-day intensive training event covers state-of-the-art methods in data visualization, taught by leading experts and practitioners.
Further details are available on the conference website: https://vizbi.org/2024.
