Health Career Academy

Description: Health Career Academy is a national program designed to introduce local high school students to health care occupations. Last year, volunteers taught and discussed a range of medical topics, from heart attacks to gunshot wounds, with 10th grade students at Orthopaedic Hospital Medical Magnet High School. At the end of the course, high school students present on medical topics at USC's Health Sciences Campus. Health Career Academy strives to help local students realize the importance of science, allow them to explore careers within health care and serve as positive role models in their community.
