The USC Center for Personalized Brain Health has launched the Preventive Neurology Clinic, the first and only clinic dedicated to proactive interventions aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s disease. Continue reading to learn more  about the clinic and its team.

 

An image of Jinseo Choi.Jinseo Choi is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who completed her education at UCLA. She specializes in the prevention and treatment of dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. With her combined expertise in Internal Medicine (IM) and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), she has built a strong foundation for her work in dementia care. Her practice focuses on optimizing brain health and preventing cognitive decline, reflecting her deep commitment to advancing the field of neurology.

 

Her neurology practice specializes in patients with APOE ε4 gene which may increase their risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Her goal is to reduce this risk through personalized strategies. Specifically, she assesses key risk factors associated with Alzheimer’s and creates individualized preventive care plans. Her approach integrates lifestyle modifications with management of cardiovascular risk factors, such as hyperlipidemia and high blood pressure, all tailored to each patient’s specific APOE genotype. This comprehensive, personalized care aims to enhance brain health and mitigate factors that could influence the progression of cognitive decline
