A primary focus is the Apolipoprotein E4 (<em>APOE <\/em>\u03b54) allele which is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer\u2019s disease. <em>APOE <\/em>\u03b54 is prevalent in upwards of 25% of the general population and more than 50% of patients with AD. We employ cutting-edge imaging techniques and other biological markers to understand the implications of <em>APOE <\/em>\u03b54 on the brain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Personalized Approach<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The center takes a personalized approach, tailoring a combination of biobehavioral and pharmacological intervention to fit each patient&#8217;s specific needs for preventing cognitive decline. For those with a family history of dementia or concerns about developing it, we offer genetic testing and thorough neuro-endocrine-vascular evaluations to understand their Alzheimer&#8217;s risk.
