Jess Osterman grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. She attended undergraduate at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, received a Master’s in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University and then attended medical school at University of Maryland. She completed her intern year at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland before moving to California to complete residency training at LAC+USC. After serving as a Chief Resident in 2011-2012, she joined the faculty at LAC+USC as a member of the residency office. Her research interests include gang violence in the ER setting and early intervention, correctional medicine and medical education. Outside of the ED, she is a karaoke enthusiast, budding surfer and avid traveler.
