Jonathan Wagner grew up in Nevada City, California, a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He attended the University of California-Berkeley and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Following a transitional year internship at the University of Hawaii in Oahu, he trained in emergency medicine at LAC+USC. After serving as chief resident during his final year of residency in 2010-2011, he joined the faculty at LAC+USC as an Assistant Program Director. Following three years as APD, his focus shifted toward medical student education and medical student advising. In 2013, he was appointed as Clerkship Director and now also serves as the Faculty Advisor for all emergency medicine bound medical students. His interests include medical education, medical student advising, and residency recruitment. Outside of the ED, he is an avid surfer, world traveler, and big time foodie.
