After completing his emergency medicine residency training at LAC+USC in 2010, Ramin Tabatabai worked in a variety of ED settings including both academic and community environments. He returned to LAC+USC as an Assistant Program Director in 2013 and has been serving as Program Director since 2018. He completed his Masters in Academic Medicine at the University of Southern California in 2019. As Program Director, his vision for the program is centered around the following aims: clinical excellence, medical education that fosters life-long and adaptive learning, promoting an environment of diversity and inclusion, forging strong partnerships with community-based organizations, optimizing resident wellness, and supporting the professional development of trainees. His academic interests include medical education and resident wellness (specifically in the space of physician mental health promotion and physician suicide prevention).
