Overview

Dr. Taira graduated from NYU, double majoring in Neuro Science and Psychology. He attended medical school at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island NY. He completed his residency and served as chief resident at Bellevue/NYU in New York City followed by fellowship in Medical Education at Stony Brook University Hospital. He joined the residency team at LAC+USC after working in the residency offices at Stony Brook University and at UCLA/Olive View.
His academic interests include Career Development and Mentorship, Residency Curriculum Development, Educational Research, and the Development of Emergency Medicine in Japan. He has spoken nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. He has authored several peer reviewed papers and book chapters in emergency medicine.
