Dr. David Hong is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine who joined the faculty in May 2020. He speaks Korean and Spanish fluently and will primarily practice at our Buena Park treatment center.\n \nDr. Hong is very familiar with Southern California having grown up in Orange County. A graduate of Troy High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Riverside before attending the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. During medical school he was awarded a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship for work in the personalization of therapy for lung cancer patients performed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center under mentorship of Dr. John Minna. He completed a transitional year internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and radiation oncology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He received elective post-doctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and with the University of California, San Diego Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences.\n\nDr. Hong treats all sites for adult patients and has extensive experience with modern technical approaches including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, volumetric-modulated arc therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy, and motion management. He has a well-developed interest in patient safety and healthcare process and quality improvement. He is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation Committee.
