Dr. Elke Ahlmann is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at LAC – USC Medical Center. Dr. Ahlmann is a graduate of the orthopaedic surgery residency at USC. She later completed a one year oncology fellowship at USC and LAC-USC Medical Center. Her clinical practice consists of caring for patients with musculoskeletal tumors and metastases at LAC – USC Medical Center. She is also an active member of the LAC – USC trauma team, with particular interest in fractures of the upper extremity. Dr. Ahlmann has been involved in clinical research for the past 15 years and has published peer review research articles and book chapters in the field of musculoskeletal oncology, bone grafting and clavicle fractures. She has a special interest in the long-term clinical outcome of endoprosthetic reconstructions, cryosurgery for chondrosarcoma, and the use of denosumab for the treatment of giant cell tumor of bone. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and member of the Connective Tissue Oncology Society. She is active in resident and medical student education.
