Dr. Eugene DePasquale is the Medical Director of the Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at the University of Southern California. Dr. DePasquale received his M.D. degree from State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency, Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine, and a Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. At the same institution, he was Chief Cardiology Fellow, and completed an additional Fellowship with a focus in Inherited Cardiomyopathies with additional study at University College London.

His research interests include heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support outcomes, as well as studies of novel heart failure and cardiomyopathy therapies. Additional interests include noninvasive rejection surveillance as well as studies of novel heart failure and cardiomyopathy therapies, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

In addition, Dr. DePasquale has a strong interest in sports cardiology serves as a medical consultant for the Women’s Tennis Association and USC Athletics. He served as a medical consultant for the US Open Tennis Championships from 2003 to 2020. Additionally, he serves on a national committee for the United States Tennis Association.
