Dr. Tobin graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992 and was a paramedic before earning his medical degree at Boston University in 2000. He completed Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Washington, Critical Care Fellowship at Stanford and Prehospital Medicine fellowship at Sydney Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (Sydney HEMS). Currently, Dr. Tobin is the Chief, Division of Trauma Anesthesiology at the Los Angeles County Hospital/Keck School of Medicine of USC. His research interests include trauma resuscitation, critical care transportation and mathematical modeling of critical illness. Dr. Tobin holds two U.S. patents and is the author of numerous peer reviewed scientific articles and textbook chapters.

Dr. Tobin is also a Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He has completed multiple deployments in a variety of conventional and special operations assignments. He is a Diving Medical Officer as well as a Flight Surgeon. Dr. Tobin’s awards include the Air Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Romanian Medal of Honor of the General Staff.
