Dr Kashif T Khan, MD, SM is dual board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine (American Board of Anesthesiology). He holds an additional certification in Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia (American Society of Anesthesiologists). Dr Khan’s clinical duties involve the general operating rooms, cardiac intensive care units, and the regional anesthesia service. Dr Khan completed his internship in General Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital, residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center, and fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.\n\nDr Khan continues to pursue administrative and research activity in health policy, health care delivery, health metrics, health outcomes, systems improvement, and global health. Dr Khan’s work has been published in high impact peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. At USC (Keck+LAC), Dr Khan is involved with the Resuscitation Committee, the Mortality Review Committee, and the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery program. Dr. Khan has served in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response at the Baltimore City Health Department in collaboration with the Baltimore Mayor’s Office and Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. While at Harvard, Dr Khan worked on systems performance, learning, and improvement at Partners In Health, the Initiative for Global Health, the Global Health Delivery Initiative, and Ariadne Labs.\n\nDr Khan continues his passion for education. He is involved with the USC (Keck+LAC) residency and fellowship training programs with intraoperative teaching, journal club, and formal lecture. Dr Khan has been deeply involved with teaching undergraduates, graduates, medical students, residents, fellows, and colleagues. As a teaching fellow, Dr Khan received the Derek Bok Certificate for Excellence in Teaching at Harvard College for a course on Negotiation and Conflict Management, taught by Professor Daniel Shapiro. As a medical student, he co-founded the Global Health Center and associated curriculum at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.\n\nBorn and raised in Pennsylvania, Dr Khan completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University, graduate studies at Harvard University, and medical school at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
