Mica Bergman, MD, PhD, received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her MD and PhD degrees from Vanderbilt University. She completed her internship in general surgery at Vanderbilt prior to joining the USC Roski Eye Institute in 2013, when she began her ophthalmology residency. Bergman’s PhD research focused on transcriptional regulatory mechanisms governing brain development. Her current research efforts are on describing anatomical relationships and optimizing surgical approaches in the periorbital region. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, rollerblading, skiing and the flying trapeze.
