Dr. Cielo received her undergraduate education at UC Berkeley and attended medical school at USC. Dr. Cielo is board certified in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases. She completed her pediatrics residency and infectious disease fellowship at Children’s Hospital Oakland. Since 2012, she has been a faculty member of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Department at LAC+USC, primarily working in the clinic setting, delivering care to HIV positive children, adolescents and young adults, as well as HIV-exposed but uninfected youth, and youth with other infectious diseases. She participates in recruitment for ongoing research projects in the clinic, including studies under IMPAACT. She is working to implement strategies for engaging and retaining youth in care, including smartphone applications and motivational interviewing. She assists with management of Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship Program.
