Notable Achievements

Faculty research awards:

  • In 2017, Erik Seiffert received the inaugural Robert W. Sussman Award for Scientific Contributions to Anthropology, which is awarded by Section H (Anthropology) of the AAAS. This award recognizes meritorious scientific contributions to the field of anthropology by mid-career anthropologists.
  • In 2018, Alicia McDonough received the Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Recognition Award from USC for her contributions to understanding cardiorenal physiology and hypertension.

Faculty teaching awards:

  • In 2017, Mike Snow received USC’s Associates Award for Teaching. This is the highest honor the University faculty bestows on its members for outstanding teaching. The award recognizes the career achievements of outstanding faculty with a proven track record as exceptional teachers who impart a positive, inspiring and long-lasting effect on students and their learning, as well as those who offer extraordinary, unique or pioneering contributions to excellence in teaching. He also was selected for the inaugural induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society at KSOM.
  • In 2018, Alicia McDonough, was recognized by the Keck School of Medicine for their contributions to Year 1-2 medical teaching. Alicia McDonough received the designation of Master Teacher.
