Postdoc Training Opportunities

There are many training opportunities available to postdocs at USC! Training can vary from laboratory research to classroom experience.

Please reach out to us if you are looking for a specific type of training or if you want to help provide new opportunities for postdocs.

Funding your Training and Research

Securing your own research funding can sometimes be necessary. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs provides a number of resources to help you with your funding experience.

The USC Provost’s office has travel awards and seed funding available. Please find more information here. For a list of additional funding sources, visit our Fellowships and Funding page.

Funding opportunities can also be found at Grant Forward, a grant database where users can search for funding opportunities (federal-, state-, foundation- and institution-sponsored research) across all fields. Grant Forward membership is free to all USC employees. To create an account, follow the instructions in the New User Quick Guide. Once you create a detailed user profile, funding opportunities that match your selected research interests are automatically identified and displayed in the Recommendations section.

To help you submit polished grant applications and successfully obtain research funding, USC offers training in grant writing and research workshops. Additionally, USC provides grant mock reviews and pre-grant application reviews to prepare and help you submit the best possible grant applications.
