MCA faculty are involved in all aspects of education, teaching on a continuous basis in the clinic and hospital, in addition to serving as clinical and research mentors to undergraduate and medical students, residents and fellows. Third and fourth year medical students, as well as residents and fellows from Pediatrics, Medicine-Pediatrics, Family Medicine, OB/Gynecology, and Pediatric Infectious Diseases rotate through the MCA Clinic, gaining exposure and knowledge about HIV and other infectious diseases. A 4-week clinical rotation on the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Consult Service at the Los Angeles General Medical Center with our faculty is available to fourth year medical students from Keck and other medical schools, Pediatric Residents and Adult ID fellows. Our Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellows participate in weekly HIV and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinics at MCA, inpatient Pediatric ID consults at Los Angeles General Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), and are mentored through a robust research program by our faculty.
