Class of 2027

Opportunity – LEAPS

December 05, 2025

We want to share this opportunity for those medical students in the Class of 2027 who would like to experience a training conference focused on Integrative Medicine.  Medical Student Wellbeing has three scholarships for fund the $500.00 fee to attend.  Students who have attended in years past have shared that it was truly transformative on a personal and professional level.

This conference is for students in the Class of 2027 and the dates (June 7 to 12, 2026) must fit into your rotation schedule when you have personal discretionary time.

About LEAPS

2026 Retreat: June 7 – 12, 2026
Old Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, California, USA

The Leadership And Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine (LEAPS into IM) focuses on developing leadership skills, integrative medicine education, and self-care skills for students, while empowering them to create an integrative medicine project for implementation at their home institution.

The program blends evidence-based lectures, experiential learning, and community building to cultivate a deep understanding of integrative approaches to health and healing.

Eligible participants should have a demonstrated interest in integrative medicine and health, and a willingness to take on leadership roles within their institution or community. LEAPS students may be affiliated with the following disciplines: medicine, osteopathy, nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, psychology, social work, allied health, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, and naturopathy, among others.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in interactive sessions on acupuncture, culinary medicine, yoga, sound healing, Ayurveda, and mind-body practices. The program also includes opportunities to connect with nature—from peaceful moments at the mission to grounding experiences by the beach in Oceanside, CA.
