[AAMC] Federal Student Loans and Repayment Plans

Hosted by the AAMC’s FIRST team, the team will provide an update on recent federal student loan and repayment changes stemming from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

It will cover developments from the Department of Education’s negotiated rulemaking process and explain how upcoming regulations may impact current and future medical students and residents. Topics include changes to federal loan programs, how existing (“legacy”) provisions will be treated, new borrowing limits and repayment options, implementation timelines, and updates to the MedLoans Organizer and Calculator (MLOC) to help borrowers assess repayment strategies in a changing student aid environment.
