Class of 2029

Volunteer Opportunity with LAUSD

February 06, 2026

Please consider signing up to volunteer as they need many hands to make this event a success!

(Please note that only those assigned to LAUSD can receive Service-Learning Hours though this opportunity.)

The College and Career Readiness Team at Theodore Roosevelt High School cordially invites you to participate in our annual 11th Grade Mock Interview event. This meaningful initiative provides our 11th-grade students with the opportunity to demonstrate their career readiness through in-person mock interviews, preparing them for success in the professional world.

We rely on the generosity of volunteers who are passionate about empowering students and providing constructive feedback to help them grow into confident, successful adults. As a volunteer, you will conduct 5-7 interviews with students during a three-hour time block, offering valuable guidance and insights based on your expertise.

Event Details

This year, our interviews will focus on four distinct career-themed pathways, with each interview day dedicated to one of the following themes:

  • March 4th, 2026: Medical and Health Science
  • March 5th, 2026: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math
  • March 6th, 2026: Law & Public Service Magnet AND Academy of Music & Digital Production

Each day will feature two sessions: a morning session from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon session from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Each session will begin with a brief orientation, including an overview of how to evaluate students and record their scores.

We hope you will consider volunteering as an interviewer for one or more sessions on any of the three days. Additionally, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share this opportunity with your networks to help make this a truly memorable experience for our students.

You will get a confirmation email with more information once you submit your registration form. If you have any questions, please contact Promesa Boyle Heights’ Post Secondary Equity & Success Coordinator, Alexandra Martinez, at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you there!
