Physician’s Aid Funding Support

The Office of Student Affairs would like to remind you about Physicians Aid which is available for all MD students.

Information is listed below:

The Physicians Aid Association is a non-profit charitable organization that is dedicated to helping Los Angeles County physicians, their dependent families and physicians-in-training through unanticipated temporary financial hardships.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants must be experiencing an unanticipated and temporary significant need.
  • Physicians in training must apply for assistance through their school’s Dean’s office.
  • Applications must be accompanied with expense receipts, 2-page narrative of circumstance and need, and curriculum vitae.

Some examples of what they fund:

  • Rent or Mortgage
  • Food
  • Utilities
  • Transportation (i.e. costs incurred for immediate car repairs, family emergency travel)

Some examples of what they do not fund:

  • Legal Bills or Attorney Fees
  • Credit Card Bills
  • Car Purchase
  • Medical Bills
  • Business Investments
  • Tax Bills
  • Computer Purchases

If your request is approved, we may fund up to $2500 based on your extenuating circumstances. To submit a request for Physician’s Aid funding, please complete and submit this form.
