Keck EMR Access

  • KeckCare EMR training has two parts

    • Part 1: Two-hour e-learning session in HealthStream, and
    • Part 2: Two-hour instructor-led class, conducted remotely.

    You must complete Part 1 to get permission to complete Part 2.  You may also complete a “Combo” training session, which includes both Parts 1 & 2, and is a 4-hour training.

    Please also note that you must log in to your Cerner account every 15 days to avoid losing access. Set reminders for yourself!

  • Instructions:

    • On the homepage: Affiliate your account with the University of Southern California
    • Enroll in the “Medical Student Learner – Biomedical Human Subjects” course (please note: this is NOT the same as the course named simply, “Biomedical Human Subjects,” which contains different modules.)
    • If you have completed the modules listed below at another institution, you will still need to affiliate your account with USC.
    • For questions pertaining to your CITI account and CITI training, please contact oprs@usc.edu.

      • Populations in Research Requiring Additional Considerations and/or Protections (ID: 16680) 
  • 3. Ask your faculty mentor to add you to the IRB as a Study Personnel
