Overview

Dr. Win’s major areas of research interest are signal transduction in drug-induced hepatotoxicity, regulation of mitochondrial bioenergetic signaling in hepatotoxicity, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and alcoholic hepatitis, oxidative stress, and identification of therapeutic targets to prevent drug-induced hepatotoxicity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) (previous term: nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, NAFLD). Her current research includes cellular mechanisms of hepatotoxicity.

Dr. Win earned her medical degree from University of Yangon Institute of Medicine. She then went on to perform her Medicine and Surgery Internship and Residency at University of Yangon General Hospital, followed by her PhD in Immunology & Molecular Biology from Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry.
