et_pb_text et_pb_text_4 et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">\n<p>It is recommended to meet with the Practicum Director and\/or Practicum Coordinator\u00a0<strong>at least six months before<\/strong>\u00a0the desired practicum start date. This will allow ample time for the student to identify and complete setup with a practicum site. The Practicum Coordinator is available to guide students through the process of finding a practicum site, however it is each student\u2019s responsiblity to secure their own placement.<\/p>\n<p>The practicum placement must be related to and serve to demonstrate the competencies indicated in the students\u2019 MPH concentration.<\/p>\n<p>Once a placement has been secured, students should complete the MPH Practicum Approval Form on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mphpracticum.usc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MPH Practicum Portal<\/a>\u00a0and send it to the Practicum Coordinator for approval.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strategies for finding a practicum site:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that students utilize the following strategies when searching for a site.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Networking, including with faculty members, guest speakers from class, LinkedIn, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Responding to practicum opportunities sent out by the MPH
