The Department of Family Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC hosted its second Family Medicine Research Day conference on January 31, 2024. This annual conference brings together family medicine faculty, students, residents and fellows from 11 family medicine residency programs throughout Southern California to foster scholarship and research within the specialty.

The Division of Research in the Department of Family Medicine has become a growing base of research collaborations and partners in the local community, while expanding its role as a hub of local and state family medicine research training. This year’s conference included a showcasing of posters and speakers addressing a generation of learners from medical students to fellows and residents. The event hosted additional training for faculty who are beginning research projects and are seeking additional support. Highlights from the conference included research presentations on substance use disorder, partnership in tattoo removal with Homeboy Industries, case studies, and clinical work on Long Covid.
