The USC Roski Eye Institute celebrated the opening of its new Glendale clinic Thursday, September 5, 2024, marking an expansion of USC’s eye care services in the area.

About 50 people gathered at the 500 N. Central Ave location, including Keck School of Medicine Dean Dr. Carolyn C. Meltzer, USC Senior Vice President for Health Affairs Dr. Steven D. Shapiro and Keck Medicine CEO Rodney B. Hanners.

The Weise family, who gifted the Glendale Eye Medical Group Practice to USC, attended alongside Ed Roski, Jr., the institute’s namesake.

Dr. J. Martin Heur, Chair of the USC Department of Ophthalmology, joined Roski and Dr. Richard Weise in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the clinic.

While the Glendale Eye Medical Group and USC Roski Eye Institute integrated on May 6, this reception served as a formal celebration.

The new USC Roski Eye Institute-Glendale aims to treat both new and established patients for years to come.
