Allison Chambliss<\/a>, PhD, DABCC, assistant professor of clinical pathology in the Department of Pathology, has been named an American Society for Clinical Pathology “40 Under Forty Top Six<\/a>” honoree for 2021. The ASPC had announced its 40 Under Forty list in June.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Forty ASCP members under the age of 40 are being recognized for their achievements and leadership qualities that are making an impact on pathology and laboratory medicine,” the group said. “This year\u2019s ASCP 40 Under Forty honorees join 200 alumni of this prestigious recognition program. And like these alums, they will continue to advance into even more prominent positions and accomplishments in the coming years.<\/p>\n

From that group, the Top Six 40 Under Forty honorees were selected based on public voting and committee selection. Two are pathologists; two, including Chambliss, are laboratory professionals; and the other two are pathology trainees.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chambliss is the section director of Clinical Chemistry and Point-of-Care Testing in the clinical laboratories of the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. Her research interests include sepsis biomarkers and laboratory stewardship initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond honored to be named an ASCP 40 Under Forty Top Six,\u201d she said in a statement. \u201cAll of the 40 Under Forty are superstars in their respective areas, and it is a privilege to be recognized alongside of them. I am appreciative to my peers who contributed to the public voting and to the selection committee who found merit in my work. It has been difficult to connect with colleagues during this past year and a half through the pandemic, especially as an early career professional, but this 40 Under Forty honor has allowed me to feel connected to and inspired by laboratory professionals across multiple disciplines and geographic areas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n <\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
