Why did you choose to pursue your degree at USC?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I chose USC because of the unmatched opportunities to work with experts in the field and train in an academic setting where the focus of our work is truly on serving the patients and communities who contribute to our research and can benefit the most from the findings of our research. USC’s incredibly strong equity lens permeates all aspects of the training experience, from the classroom to the rich research opportunities available at USC.<\/p>\n

What is one of your favorite memories from your program?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My favorite memories throughout the program were meeting and building lasting relationships with mentors and classmates.<\/p>\n

What course in your program did you enjoy the most and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

PM 517A\/B: Research Methods in Cancer Epidemiology\u2014These two courses are the core epidemiology theory courses that we take as first year PhD Epidemiology students. For me, these courses were my first comprehensive introduction to epidemiologic theory and learning about the intricacies of using epidemiologic methods to create impactful research. They really solidified my choice to pursue epidemiology.<\/p>\n

What advice do you have for incoming students?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take time to explore your research interests and meet helpful mentors by seeking out opportunities to work with a variety of incredible faculty in our department.<\/p>\n

What are you planning to do after graduation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am a student in the joint MD\/MPH program<\/a>, after graduation, I plan on finishing medical school!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n
