Shared Services

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) has centralized research administration, providing pre- and post-award grants administration to participating KSOM Departments, Institutes, and Centers.

This centralization or establishment of “Shared Services” enables the support of Principal Investigators and Departments with sponsored projects through the sharing of research administration staff, expertise and best practices.

Our Shared Services:

Pre-Award Grants Administration:

  • Routing and approvals of grant proposals in Cayuse SP
  • Budget development
  • Coordinate subcontract package
  • Compile completed application
  • Just in Time (JIT) requests

Post-Award Grants Administration:

  • Monitor spending/financial reports including cost-share and internal grants
  • Subaward set-up and monitoring
  • eCert review
  • Approve expenses and reimbursements
  • Progress Report submissions
  • Review changes in key personnel
  • Review changes in budget, rebudgeting, prior approvals
  • No cost extensions
  • Grant Close-outs and relinquishments
  • Review Position Control Forms
