Dr. Subramanyan is a surgeon-scientist who, during his surgery residency, completed a PhD in Pathobiology studying angiogenesis and blood vessel maturation in the laboratory of Parkash S. Gill, MD. He runs a basic science research lab studying molecular signaling by endothelial and endocardial membrane proteins. His research focuses on the mechanisms governing the development of heart and blood vessels, and their translational role in improving end-organ perfusion in ischemia, as well as curtailing angiogenesis in vascular proliferative disorders, including cancer. Dr. Subramanyan has over 30 peer-reviewed publications, has co-authored two books, several textbook chapters and has made over 20 presentations in a variety of conferences.
