The LEO Foundation’s Research Grants program supports high-impact dermatology research worldwide across basic, translational, technical, epidemiological, and clinical domains. The program prioritizes projects that advance understanding of skin biology and the underlying medicinal, biological, chemical, and pharmacological mechanisms of dermatologic diseases and their symptoms. It also welcomes research addressing clinical challenges among individuals at risk for or living with skin disease, including impacts on quality of life and broader societal costs.

The Foundation supports investigator-initiated clinical trials only, requiring applicants to independently design, conduct, and publish their studies without commercial influence. Projects focused on skin cancer or cosmetic dermatology are not eligible.
