Building Community Around a Shared Cancer Journey: A Narrative Medicine Approach

April 25, 2024 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Have you or a family member been affected by cancer?

Whether you’ve been a caregiver, a patient, or simply a loved one of someone who has cancer, we all have to navigate both hard-fought victories and stories of pain and loss. Learning how to be a careful observer of both beauty and sorrow in literature and art and then writing about the experience can help individuals reflect on the stories that shape their own journey.

We invite you to join a Narrative Medicine workshop to connect more deeply with your own story and the stories of others on a similar path. The workshop is intended for USC students at HSC to provide a safe space for reflection and to cultivate a supportive community for those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

The workshop is offered by Keck’s Narrative Medicine Program and the Cancer Support Community Los Angeles (CSCLA), and will be facilitated by experienced narrative medicine practitioners.
