Cancer Epidemiology Seminar Series: Varicella Zoster Virus in Glioma Etiology and Survival — Evidence of a Beneficial Virus?

Dr. Stephen Francis, University of California San Francisco
Dr. Francis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). His research is focused on understanding the genetics and etiology of brain tumors and other cancers, through a combination of population-based epidemiology, molecular biology, and computational biology. In this talk, Dr. Francis will describe recent and ongoing research into the relationship between varicella zoster virus (VZV) exposure and adult glioma risk and patient survival.
