“INSIDE OUT” Webinar Series: Closing the Loophole on Delta-8-THC and Hemp-Derived Cannabis Products
May 10, 2024 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Dr. Harlow is an epidemiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Her research integrates epidemiologic methods with addiction science to inform policies and interventions aimed at preventing the adverse health effects of substance use among youth and adults. An important focus of Dr. Harlow’s research is identifying regulatory targets to reduce tobacco and cannabis-related harms. She is currently the PI of a NIDA-funded K01 award examining the influence of the tobacco and cannabis retail environment and neighborhood disadvantage on youth nicotine and cannabis vaping outcomes. In this “Inside Out” webinar, Dr. Harlow will discuss her ongoing work examining the policy loophole that has led to the proliferation of an intoxicating hemp-derived cannabis market and her research on adolescent use of delta-8-THC.
