Talk Title: Understanding the association between air pollution and dementia by using early biomarkers of disease and omics profiling of disease-relevant tissues
The Center for Genetic Epidemiology is hosting a virtual seminar with Dr. Anke Huels. Dr Huels is a biostatistician with training in environmental and molecular epidemiology. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, Environmental Health and Biostatistics/Bioinformatics at the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) at Emory University where a major focus of her work is to understand how air pollution impacts the human brain and cognitive functioning, using different omics data including genomics, epigenomics, and metabolomics. Dr. Huels is an MPI and contact PI of two NIH/NIA R01 awards and one NIH/NIA U01 award, supporting her growing research program on air pollution and dementia.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. Keck School of Medicine of USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other prohibited factor.
