Geometric Morphometrics Workshop
June 17 @ 1:00 pm - June 20 @ 5:00 pm
FreeImmerse yourself in the intricate world of biological shape and its changes at our comprehensive Geometric Morphometrics Workshop at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California (USC). This event offers theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling you to delve into the nuances of biological shape variation and its interrelationships.
Location: Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences, Keck School of Medicine of USC
Workshop Highlights:
•Day 1 (June 17th, 1 pm):
o Introduction to geometric morphometrics (90 minutes)
o Data types and initial analyses (150 minutes of practice), with a one-hour break
•Day 2 (June 18th, 1 pm):
o 3D model acquisition, landmark digitization, and multivariate analysis (90 minutes of lecture and 150 minutes of hands-on work)
•Day 3 (June 19th, 1 pm):
o Advanced digitization techniques, symmetry analysis, and group projects (1 hour of theory and 3 hours of practice)
• Day 4 (June 20th, 1 pm):
o Group project presentations, discussions on advanced topics, and future
directions (4 hours of practice)
Eligibility: The workshop is limited to 15 participants and is open to the following on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to USC Keck School of Medicine:
